Frying pan splatter screen vs lid for bacon?
I love crispy bacon but hate the splatter mess. Lid makes it soggy, so would a frying pan splatter screen keep it crisp while controlling the grease flying out?

Planning to tile my shower and need an access panel for the mixing valve. The rough-in is about 8×10 inches. Is it better to go with a 10×14 panel to have some extra space or stick closer to the actual size? Also, do the cheap ones from big box stores hold up or should I order something better online?
I usually go 2–4 inches bigger all around so you have room to actually reach in without scraping your knuckles every time. 10×14 should be perfect for most shower valves. The super cheap plastic ones can warp or crack after a couple years in a wet environment. I bought this one last summer after a bad experience with a $10 panel – solid build, metal door, strong magnets, no issues so far even with daily steam: https://www.amazon.com/Access-Panel-Drywall-Plumbing-Durable/dp/B085617TBL?tag=contractorhub-20 Easy to cut the opening slightly larger if needed and it looks clean. Definitely saved me headaches on the next service call.
